What is Vireta - Balkan Pharmaceuticals
Lutein
Many have heard of lutein and its beneficial effects on eye health, but how many know exactly what it is.
Lutein is an antioxidant similar to zeaxanthin. They are substances with a carotenoid structure, from the beta-carotene group.
In natural form, lutein is synthesized in large quantities in various leafy green plants such as spinach, kale or kale.
The powerful antioxidant properties of lutein are felt most in the eyes.
The retina of each eye has the ability to synthesize lutein, which aims to protect it from free radicals in the body and improve the absorption of blue light.
Zeaxanthin
Zeaxanthin is a yellow pigment of the xanthophyll group, belongs to the oxygen-containing carotenoids and is an isomer of lutein.
It protects the macula of the eye from age-related macular degeneration (increases the optical density of the macular pigment), reducing the risk of developing age-related blindness.
Minimizing the destructive effect of free radicals on cell membranes.
Protects the eyes from the damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation and blue rays (absorbs blue light, acts as internal sunglasses).
Improve night vision and improve visual acuity in general (contributes to better contrast, reduction of blind spots, recovery from exposure to bright light).
Vitamin B6 - Pyridoxine
Pyridoxine is one of the metabolic stimulants in the human body. As a coenzyme, it is involved in more than a hundred enzymatic reactions. It is mainly involved in amino acid metabolism and protein digestion.
Vitamin B6 is essential for the synthesis of blood cells and haemoglobin, an oxygen carrier. Pyridoxine also distributes glucose evenly in cells and helps maintain a healthy immune system and skin. It helps the body better absorb magnesium, a mineral for CNS and cardiovascular functions.
It is involved in the formation of many hormones, including testosterone. And it, in turn, is the most important compound for the stronger sex: it helps maintain a high level of activity, libido, fertility. When engaged in strength sports, testosterone helps build muscle mass.
Vitamin B12
Among the most indispensable qualities of vitamin B12 is its involvement in red blood cell production and iron absorption.
This is extremely key in the prevention of anemia because with vitamin B12 deficiency, healthy small and round red blood cells become larger and oval. Thus, they cannot move from the bone marrow into the blood at the required speed and cause megaloblastic anemia.
In anemia, the body has a shortage of quality red blood cells to transport oxygen to vital organs and tissues.
It is the insufficient oxygen that causes symptoms of fatigue, weakness, dizziness, memory and concentration problems.
It is often assumed that iron deficiency is the cause of the development of anemia, but the truth is that in a very large proportion of cases this health problem is due to vitamin B12 deficiency.
All the B vitamins play an essential role in energy production in the body.
In fact, one of the most common early signs of vitamin B12 deficiency is precisely fatigue and lack of energy.
If a person has a significant vitamin B12 deficiency, taking a supplement, or increasing his intake will likely improve his energy level.
Most effective for preventing and treating macular degeneration
- Lutein and zeaxanthin protect retinal cells from solar radiation or digital screens.
- They improve visual ability.
- Helps protect cells against oxidative stress and regenerates the reduced form of vitamin E.
- Supports collagen formation for normal functioning of blood vessels, nervous system and immune system.
- Improves ocular circulation, Effectively protects the retina and helps maintain optimal vision.
- Reduces damage caused by blue light and prevents cataracts.
- Zinc - Contributes to the maintenance of normal vision, the process of cell division and the normal metabolism of vitamin A.
- Copper - supports the health of the conjunctival tissues.
- Folic acid - in carefully balanced doses so as not to mask vitamin B12 deficiency. Supports the nervous system, prevents neurodevelopmental or emotional disorders, the onset of dementia and may help slow cognitive decline.
- Protection of the internal structures of the eyes
